This is the first basket that I made using agate chips around the outside of a basket. I was all excited about this idea until I soon realized that the agate chip beads would not fit over the sewing needle and the waxed linen thread! I had to take the sewing needle off every time I added a bead and then thread the sewing needle again. It took me a couple of extra hours to make this basket because of that process, but I was really pleased with the end result. I used Botswana agate chip beads, natural and yellow dyed Florida long leaf pine needles, dark brown waxed linen thread and a brown w/gray swirl Brazilian agate center. I hope you enjoy this basket as much as Pudge does!
