Fur Babies

I have been fortunate to have many cats and dogs as my "fur babies" throughout my entire life. The dogs have always been the most loyal friends, while some of the cats have had a mind of their own. While I am making my baskets or preparing pine needles, many of these fluffy friends have been very curious as what I am up to. On occasion they would play with the irresistible colorful strings and threads and fragrant pine needles. Some of them would steal pine needles and bat at them or roll around on them. The cats would get very excited or sometimes would just sit in my lap and purr while trying to get at whatever I was using. The dogs would sometimes try to chew the pine needles or just scatter them everywhere. Several of my pine needle baskets include a bit of their fur. Many of my fur babies have modeled and played beside my baskets for photo shoots.

These baskets reminded me of how much joy all of these cuddly creatures have brought to me and my family throughout the years. The ones that have passed over the rainbow bridge will always remain in our hearts forever.

Whiskers
I made my "Whiskers" pine needle basket using dyed brown Longleaf pine needles, butterscotch Irish waxed linen thread and a cute cat pottery base. This basket is 3-3/4" round x 1-3/4" tall.

Furry Friend
I made my "Furry Friend" pine needle basket using dyed brown Longleaf pine needles, haze gray artificial sinew, rustic blue paw pottery charm and a blue paw prints pottery base. This basket is 4-1/2" long x 4-1/4" wide by 2" tall.

ENJOY!
