Getting out into nature, especially in the mountains always refreshes my soul. The air is so fresh and rejuvenating. The sights, sounds and smells are invigorating and I always come away with wanting more. One of my favorite quotes is "Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. I was thinking about past trips to the Rocky Mountains in Montana while making this basket. Even our dog, Jules, looks like she can't get enough of the wonderful and wild smells of the fresh mountain air.
I made my "Wild Air" pine needle basket using dyed dark brown and dyed dark green Longleaf pine needles, brown artificial sinew, "drink the wild air" scenic mountains, tree and sky pottery heart pendant and a Gary green jasper stone set in resin base. Enjoy!
