Flags Flying

The iris takes it name from the Greek word for rainbow, however, a common name for some species is flags. I always think that when irises are in bloom they look like flags flying, especially when the wind is blowing them back and forth. This year the irises in my yard are doing better than ever. Maybe the cold rainy winter and spring helped them. Enjoy!
