Autumn Inspiration
like gold, like rainbows,
as the winds of change
begin to blow."
-Dan Millman
I love this time of year when the leaves begin to change color and pumpkins appear everywhere. The crisp cool air is a sure sign that the season is changing. Watching the daily dance of the leaves floating to the ground in the wind is pure joy. Enjoying children pick out a pumpkin in a field filled with all shapes and colors of pumpkins is a fun tradition. The bright palette of colors and variety of the leaves and pumpkins are an inspiration. I tried to capture some of the magic of the autumn season in all of her glory in my pine needle baskets.
I made my "Falling Leaves" pine needle basket using dyed brown and orange Longleaf pine needles, sweetgrass, earth tone orange artificial sinew, Czech glass bronze wash maple leaf beads and a colorful maple leaf pottery base. This basket is 4-1/2" round x 2-1/4" tall.

Happy First Day Of Fall
I am fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest where the flowers continue to bloom through the fall season. I draw a lot of inspiration from the shapes and colors of the flowers for my pine needle baskets. The garden is very peaceful and bursting with an array of beautiful colors right now. I thought I would spread some of that joy by showing a few of my recent flower bouquets and other flowers that are still blooming in my garden. I hope it brings you some inspiration and peace, too!
ENJOY!

Autumn Inspiration
Autumn has arrived with all of its changes and beauty. The vibrant and variety of colors this time of year are always an inspiration. I enjoyed making these pine needle baskets while taking in all that the season has to offer, even the rain! After this hot and dry summer, I will never take the rain for granted again. I tried to incorporate some of the colors of the season along with inspiring pendants and beads, too. Enjoy!
"Wandering"
I made my "Wandering" pine needle basket using natural brown Longleaf pine needles that were baked in a glycerin bath, dark green artificial sinew, yellow jasper chip beads, scenic mountain and sunrise "Not all who wander are lost" pottery heart pendant, and a golden picture jasper stone set in resin for the base. This basket measures approximately 5" round by 3" tall.
