Yay, early signs of spring are starting to pop up in my garden, even though the weather calls for a few days of freezing temperatures and maybe some lowland snow this week. The dwarf irises, primroses and hellebores are a welcome sight. Their cheerful colors and unique flowers are pure joy! The natural beauty that surrounds me daily is often the inspiration for my baskets. These baskets were inspired by the colors of the moss and lichen that seem to cover everything this time of year. Plus, I was thinking about the lovely flower filled gardens that will bloom in the coming months ahead.
I made my "Cottage Garden" pine needle basket using a variety of dyed and natural brown and green Longleaf pine needles, mink brown Brazilian Settanyl waxed poly cord, olive green translucent jade beads and a colorful floral wood burned and hand ink dye painted wooden base.
This basket measures 5-3/4" round x 3" tall.
This basket measures 4-3/4" round x 2-3/4" tall.
I made my "Bee Happy" pine needle basket using natural green Longleaf pine needles, dark brown artificial sinew, pumpkin spice etched bronze bee Czech glass coin beads, a cheerful flowers and bee wood burned and hand ink dye painted wooden base.
This basket measures 5-1/2" round x 2-1/4" tall.
ENJOY!
