Pine Needle Basketry by Vicki Phillips

Glacier Peaks
Glacier National Park is one of my favorite national parks. It never ceases to amaze me and the views are stunning. The Going-to-the-Sun road is one of the most spectacular and exciting roads to travel on and the glacier-carved peaks and valleys are awe inspiring. We were fortunate to visit the park last summer, right after the road was cleared of snow and before the wildfires came. Even though the weather wasn't sunny, we were lucky enough that the skies cleared up just as we arrived at Logan Pass before the fog and clouds moved in again. This beautiful and peaceful wilderness area is still influencing my basket making and will always hold a special place in my heart. Enjoy!
I made my "Glacier Peaks" pine needle basket with dyed brown Longleaf pine needles, tan artificial sinew, pale aqua wave lampwork droplet beads and a zebra wood base. Do you see the lovely landscape with a glacier-carved peak in the horizon on the zebra wood?
This basket measures 7-1/2" x 7-1/4" x 3-3/4".
