Many times over the years my husband will buy me a basket for my birthday even though it is probably the last thing that I need! This past weekend at the Gig Harbor Summer Art Festival I found this years birthday basket from Bunny Creek Baskets made by Linda Shea. Her baskets were really creative, colorful and of exceptional quality. She coils baskets in the shape of pottery using parachute cord and yarn. She refers to it as yarn pottery! I love to add to my basket collection while meeting and supporting other basket makers. I picked out a beautiful ombre blue basket that reminded me of a starry
night and the beautiful water and ice that I saw in the Arctic and
Antarctica. Thank you, Linda!
When I got my basket home our dog Jules couldn't stop sniffing it. Upon further inspection I found a few pieces of fur that resembled Jules fur. After I read Linda's flyer I had to laugh, because she writes that you might find fur in your basket from her "fur baby" a sweet and beautiful Siberian husky. Jules is a rescue dog from the Yakima Indian Reservation, so we are not sure what breeds she might have in her. However, after comparing the fur, I think she might be part husky! ENJOY!

It was really great to meet you and I am so glad that you and Jules are enjoying your yarn pottery. I am honored that you added one of my pieces to your collection.
ReplyDeleteDid get a laugh out of Jules checking it out.
