The stunning beauty and peacefulness of Redwood National Park was the inspiration for this basket. One of my favorite places that we camped was near Trinidad, California. On one side was the Pacific Ocean with huge rock formations and on the other side were beautiful redwood trees with creeks and rivers flowing past them and lovely mountains in the background. I have never forgotten the shades of gorgeous colors of the ocean, creeks, rivers, mountains and the beautiful giant redwood trees. Walking in this beautiful landscape was almost like walking into a great Cathedral. I am still in awe and very grateful to have been in such a peaceful and quiet place. The enormity of the trees and their ability to survive for so many years under many difficult conditions continue to fill me with hope to this day.
I made my "Nature's Majesty" pine needle basket with dyed reddish brown Longleaf pine needles, brown artificial sinew, dark blue transparent glass crow beads, two-sided scenic lampwork beads with sun, tree, water and mountains and a maple wood base. This basket measures 8" round by 5" tall at the highest peak.
Enjoy!
