We have had one of the hottest and driest summers ever recorded in the Pacific Northwest with record breaking temperatures. Many of the days were filled with haze and smoke from the surrounding wildfires in the mountains. However, the majority of the days were filled with sunshine and warm summer breezes that were wonderful! I spent many days outside enjoying making baskets near the beach in Puget Sound. I tried to capture the spirit of summer with this basket before the rain returns for the season!
I made my "Summer Breeze" basket using dyed brown and dyed avocado green Longleaf pine needles, sweetgrass, brown artificial sinew and olive green glass crow beads and a arrowhead sand dollar center.
