We are blessed in the Pacific Northwest with lush forests that meet the Pacific Ocean, especially on the Olympic Peninsula. The trees are so hardy that they continue to grow even when the ocean takes away the shoreline. One of the best places to see amazing views is in Olympic National Park (click here to go to their website) or anywhere along the peninsula. If you ever have the opportunity to visit this area you will not be disappointed. I am continually inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us and this basket is an example of that.
I made this basket using dyed dark green and brown Longleaf pine needles, dark green artificial sinew, brown African recycled glass beads from Ghana, Operculum shell beads and a wood burl base. Enjoy!
Note: The beach photos are from the Olympic National Park website.
