Pine Needle Basketry by Vicki Phillips

Sea Cliffs

Beachcombing has always been one of my favorite pastimes, especially after a big storm. Looking for interesting things that wash onto the beach and close to the land is where I have found most of my shells, fossils and glass floats.  Searching next to the the bluffs and cliffs, especially after the weather has eroded away some of the shoreline is always interesting and usually successful. This basket was inspired by my many beach walks surrounded by the ever changing and natural beauty of the Oregon, Washington and California coastlines.

I made my "Sea Cliffs" basket using brown Longleaf pine needles, sweetgrass, brown artificial sinew, lava rock starfish beads, magnesite beads and a brown and white swirled rock base.
Enjoy!
