Birthday Basket

I recently received this beautiful basket from my sister-in-law and her family for my birthday. They bought it while vacationing in the Bahamas at the Atlantis Resort. I absolutely LOVE it and have proudly added it to my collection of baskets. One of my goals in life is to collect a basket from every country in the world. I may never accomplish this goal, but it is sure fun to try.

When I showed the basket to my son and told him where it was from he just rolled his eyes with disgust. Last spring during his Senior year of high school he was invited to spend a week at the Atlantis Resort with his friend at a family condo. All he had to do was pay his own airfare, which was only $200 at the time. I wouldn't let him go, because he was already taking time off of school to go to Whistler Resort in British Columbia with another friend. He had a bad case of Senioritis and had already been accepted into the college of his choice, so he couldn't figure out why I wouldn't let him go. I just couldn't justify him taking so much time away from school and I told him he had his whole life ahead of him to go to Altantis. Needless to say, that didn't go over very well and he has never forgiven me. Oh well, what is a parent to do? At least I have a beautiful basket from a place I hope both my son and I get to visit someday! Have a great day!
