Wedding Baskets Round Two

A few weeks ago we finally got to celebrate my son's wedding after it had to be postponed for a year due to Covid. It was a beautiful and fun-filled weekend surrounded by family and friends. It was great to finally hug, visit and dance with people! I felt very honored and was very proud to walk my son down the aisle and be a witness and sign their marriage certificate. My son and his fiancé have been together for nine years and they were so happy to finally get married. They were surrounded by so much love and there wasn't a dry eye in the entire crowd! It was the most amazing and meaningful wedding that I have ever been to. John Lennon was right when he wrote the lyrics "All you need is love, love is all you need".

"Garden Channel Rendezvous"

I made their wedding basket using natural green Longleaf pine needles, gray artificial sinew, gray hermatite stone heart shaped beads, silver pewter letter beads and a beautiful multi-colored great blue heron pottery center base. The beautiful pottery base was made by Pamela Zimmerman. They used their wedding basket for the centerpiece on their table (picture shown above) and also used a few of my other pine needle baskets on the entry table at the reception. I was overjoyed to see that my baskets were being put to good use for such very special occasion!

My granddaughter carried the same flower girl basket that we used in my daughter's wedding nine years ago. It was beautiful to see mom and daughter walking down the aisle together throwing flower petals along the way. Over time the natural green pine needles have turned a lovely shade of brown and the silver love and heart beads have a nice tarnish on them. The darker colors went better with my son's wedding, plus I didn't have to polish the beads! All I did was add new letter beads on top of the old ones. The flower basket is named "Jen's Wedding", but now I am thinking that I need to change the name to "Family Tradition"!

ENJOY!
