Wings of Summer

 Happy Summer Solstice!

Yay the beginning of summer begins, even though in the Pacific Northwest it has felt like summer for the past few months with unusually warm and sunny days. A sure sign that summer is here is the arrival of dragonflies. I love watching these speedy and colorful creatures zigzag across the sky and skim across the water. The dragonflies are a good reminder to slow down and take the time to enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer...good for the soul!

I made this basket using natural green and dyed blue Longleaf pine needles, sweetgrass, blue artificial sinew, blue and white marbled crow beads and a three dimensional blue dragonfly pottery base.
